Be inspired to record your life, a special trip, or your daily adventures in a loose, quick journal style format. Spend the day with artist Jane LaFazio. Jane, known for her friendly, encouraging teaching style, will demonstrate drawing and watercolors using a straight-forward, intuitive approach. You’ll choose simple objects, to draw and paint, and then journal your thoughts impressions on 5x7” pages. Everyone has their own drawing style, just like handwriting, and Jane will help you to see and then record what you see on paper.
Cost:$105 (includes a full day instruction, morning coffee, catered lunch) Time:9:30 - 4:30
Bio LaFazio is a mixed media artist who works in paper and cloth. She began her artist life as a watercolor painter in 1992 and watercolor continues to be her chronological first love. Her artwork has been featured in publications including Danny Gregory’ An Illustrated Life, and her mixed media work have been widely published in books such as Material Visions, Mixed-Media Self-Portraits: Inspiration & Techniques and Art Quilts at Play. Jane’s work is frequently in the magazines Cloth, Paper, Scissors and Quilting Arts and appeared twice on Quilting Arts TV third season. The retail shop of Random Arts in Saluda,NC is now closed, however we have opened a studio/workshop nearby. Our "assorted goods for creative mindfulness" can be purchased during our workshops held here at our studio in Saluda, various venues throughout the country or online.

(contrary to the usual rumors, we are still in Saluda and we have not moved to Chicago) however.... Random Arts has experienced a magical transformation... both in our physical space and our day to day activities. Although our home base is still in Saluda,our retail store front no longer exists on Main St. In the mean time we have re-established ourselves in our newly, re-purposed studio/workshop space right down the street past the Green River BarBQ
From our new space we are offering "better than ever" workshops, accommodating up to 18 students with inside and outside work areas, private parking and an enclosed courtyard for "all seasons" projects. This new addition to our space allows us greater latitude for "getting messy" in our work.

we go forward into 2010 with overwhelming enthusiasm, we ask
each and every one of you to continue to check in with us and view our
progress as we move forward with our new adventures.
